Billions in new plants. All of them need local subs.

Chip fabs, factories and pharma campuses are going up across the country. They aren't government bids, but every one hires local small businesses for construction, services and supplies. Here's where they are, who's building them, and how to get on the list.

How to get on a megaproject's sub list

  1. Find the general contractor. Big plants hire one or a few general contractors, and they hire the subs. Where we know who it is, it's on the card. Otherwise check local news and the county building permits.
  2. Get prequalified. Most large contractors have an online subcontractor or supplier registration. Have your insurance, safety record (EMR), licenses and references ready.
  3. Call the local economic development office. States and counties often run supplier fairs and keep lists of local vendors for these projects.
  4. Have a capability statement. One page on what you do and who you've done it for. Build yours free in Launchpad, or ask Max on the homepage to help write it.

Private projects are half the picture

Government buyers post new contracts every day, and big federal primes have to hire small business subs.
