Begin with the work your business can deliver today. Use Contrax Radar or an official bid portal to build a manageable shortlist, then evaluate an actual solicitation before committing time to a proposal.
- Write a search profile: products or services, service area, available team, relevant experience, and realistic start date. Try two or three terms buyers might use for your work.
- Compare three opportunities. Record each official link, buyer, scope, closing date and time zone, required meetings, and why it might fit. Open the original documents.
- Choose one opportunity. Mark eligibility, required events, staffing, equipment, evidence, and preparation time as verified, unresolved, or not met. A trade match alone does not establish qualification.
- Make a bid, conditional bid, or pass decision. For a conditional decision, name the gap, the person resolving it, and the date it must be resolved.
- Save the official link and set a next action. If no live opportunity fits, explain how you will change the search rather than forcing a poor match.
- Fictional example: a two-person cleaning business compares a nearby office, a distant hospital, and a school needing daytime staff. It investigates the office but must still verify the site visit and service schedule before deciding to bid.
💡 Use public information and truthful business details. Label unknowns for verification. A notebook or spreadsheet works for these activities; no paid subscription is required.
Put it into practice
Compare three bids, choose one, and complete a fit assessment with a reasoned decision and dated next action. Use a clearly labeled fictional scenario if suitable live bids are unavailable.
Notes stay on this device. Use practice details rather than confidential bid or customer information.
